01 · Jyotirlinga

Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga

Omkareshwar is home to one of the revered twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva, set on Mandhata island in the holy Narmada shaped naturally like the sacred ॐ symbol. It draws pilgrims from across the world throughout the year for divine blessings.

Accessible via boat ride or across the suspension bridge, the temple darshan at sunrise and the evening Shayan Aarti are deeply spiritual experiences.

02 · Ancient Temple

Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga

On the southern bank of the Narmada, Mamleshwar (Amareshwar) temple is considered a Jyotirlinga in its own right and stands just a 5-minute walk (400m) from our hotel front door.

Its extraordinary Nagara-style stone carvings, peaceful courtyard, and ancient sanctum make it an essential visit during your pilgrimage.

03 · Sacred Waters

The Holy Narmada River & Ghats

The sacred river Narmada is central to Omkareshwar's divine energy. Taking a holy dip (snan) in the tranquil waters at dawn is believed to bestow peace and spiritual purification.

The ghats are located just 350 meters from Panchavati Palace, where you can easily participate in the morning and evening aarti rituals and float sacred brass lamps.

04 · Iconic Landmark

Jhula Pul (Hanging Suspension Bridge)

This pedestrian suspension bridge spans high above the turquoise waters of the Narmada, connecting the mainland to the sacred Mandhata island where the Omkareshwar temple stands.

Walking across Jhula Pul provides breathtaking panoramic views of the river canyon, passing boats, and the historic temple spires.

05 · Pilgrimage Tips

Planning Your Temple Visit

Both Jyotirlinga temples can experience queues, especially during Somwar (Mondays), Pradosh, and festival periods like Mahashivratri and Shravan.

We recommend starting early around 6:00 AM for a calm, unhurried darshan. Our front desk team is always ready to guide you on current queue timings and VIP darshan facilities.
